Coverage vs area ⚠

Coverage is the % of the target gamut the projector actually reaches (the intersection). Area is the projector's gamut area as a % of the target, which can exceed 100% even when coverage is incomplete. Results also differ between CIE 1931 xy and CIE 1976 u′v′. Manufacturers often quote area in xy, the most flattering combination. ISO/IEC 21118 Annex B.6 "colour gamut ratio" is a CIE 1931 xy coverage figure.
