About Panasonic
Panasonic's group traces to 1918, when Konosuke Matsushita founded Matsushita Electric Housewares and Manufacturing Works. Matsushita Electric launched its first CRT projector, the TH-6000, in 1977. Panasonic acquired Sanyo Electric in 2009; Sanyo had released its first LCD projector in 1989. In 2012 Panasonic and Sanyo integrated their projector businesses under the Panasonic brand. The projector business was spun out of Panasonic Connect into a new company, Panasonic Projector & Display Corporation, in 2025.
