About Sharp
Sharp Corporation traces its founding to 1912 and Tokuji Hayakawa. Since 2016 Sharp has been majority owned by Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn). NEC sold a 66% stake in its display business (NEC Display Solutions) to Sharp on 25 March 2020, creating Sharp NEC Display Solutions, which makes Sharp-branded and NEC-branded projectors. Sharp's European site describes its P-series laser projectors as a new Sharp-branded DLP projection family.
