How to compare it
Panel alignment / convergence control
Essential on 3-chip (3LCD, LCoS). Zone alignment (e.g. 9+ zones) fixes corner-only errors.
Convergence error(px)
Worst-case R/G/B misalignment on 3-chip designs.
≤0.5 px is excellent. ≥1 px shows as colour fringing on text.

Marketing traps
- Panel alignment / convergence control: Digital alignment moves colour by sub-pixel resampling. It can soften the image as much as the error it fixes.
Deep cut
Panel alignment / convergence control. Measured convergence is stored in `observed.convergence_error_px`. Units vary by projector and even by colour pairing, so reviewers should report the worst R–B offset.

Convergence / panel alignment
How well the R, G and B images overlap on 3-panel systems (3LCD/LCoS). Misconvergence shows up as colored fringing. Many models offer electronic panel alignment, which loses a little sharpness. Measured in reviews. ⚖ observed.convergence_error_px
