How to compare it
Frame interpolation (MEMC)
Valued for sport. Film purists turn it off. Quality and artefacts vary a lot by vendor.
Interpolation at 4K
Whether MEMC still works with a 4K input. Many processors only interpolate at 1080p.
A buyer-facing gotcha worth surfacing.

Deep cut
Frame interpolation (MEMC). It always adds latency. That's why it's disabled in game modes.

Frame interpolation (MEMC / "motion smoothing")
Generates intermediate frames to reduce judder, which produces the "soap-opera effect". Vendors call it MotionFlow, Frame Interpolation, Clear Motion and so on. ⚖ processing.frame_interpolation (bool) + processing.frame_interpolation_at_4k (bool, since many disable it at 4K)
