How to compare it

CVIA lumens(lm(CVIA))

Comparable only with other CVIA figures. Never converted to ISO.

Marketing traps

  • CVIA lumens: Its very wide CCT window allows a bluish white to count. Epson's position is that CVIA is not a standardised metric.
Deep cut

CVIA lumens. It's a group (T/) standard, not a national GB standard. We haven't obtained the T/CVIA number and text, so keep the 'to check' marker until we have.

CVIA lumens

A Chinese group (industry association) standard, 《投影机光输出技术要求和测试方法》, from the China Electronic Video Industry Association (中国电子视像行业协会), ~April 2023. It is not a GB national standard. Reported rules: measured output ≥80% of the labelled value, measured at a white point within 6000–18000 K with Duv limits, so you can't hit the number in a green-tinted "bright" mode. JMGO announced its switch from ANSI to CVIA in March 2023. 🟡 The T/CVIA number and full text haven't been obtained (only secondary press), and Epson's position is that CVIA is not a standardised metric. Chinese-market brands cite it. ⚖ brightness.cvia_lumens ↑. We store it as its own unit and never convert it.
