About Epson
Epson traces back to Daiwa Kogyo, established in May 1942 on the shore of Lake Suwa in Nagano. Suwa Seikosha and Epson Corporation merged in 1985 to form Seiko Epson Corporation. The first Epson-brand 3LCD projector, the VPJ-700, was introduced in January 1989. Seiko Epson lists 3LCD projectors under its visual communications business.
